The Fall of The Bastille
On July 14th, 1789 a great mass of peasants went to attack the royal prison that was known as the Bastille. Louis's soldiers were sent in for an attempt at trying to stop the peasants. There had only been 7 prisoners in the prison but they were freed from the Bastille. The peasants had then cut off the governors head in which they had put the head on a spike and paraded the streets. At that point they had created a symbol that had meant things like victory and winning a fight. This had shown the nobles and monarchs that the peasants were revolting.
